A DESIGN STUDY

The Assessment

Looking at our range, what do you think is missing from a Swim and Resort perspective?

From a Swim and Resort perspective, I think the range is already strong, but there are a few silhouettes that could further elevate the collection. For swimwear specifically, I feel the brand could benefit from adding a classic bralette style and a more refined, elevated triangle top. I’ve included these new silhouettes in the sketches below and made sure they align closely with the brand’s identity.

For the bralette, I took inspiration from the neckline of your existing strapless one-piece, ensuring it has enough coverage on the lower bust as well. I also added a detachable strap, using a thicker style to keep it modern, supportive, and consistent with your brand’s DNA.

For the triangle top, I designed a clean, staple silhouette with comfortable coverage. I explored using a stripe print but made the stripes slightly slimmer to give it a more updated, contemporary feel.

For the additional styles I designed, I worked off your classic fits and introduced subtle draping elements to add a special, elevated detail. Overall, my goal was to blend your signature silhouettes with modern touches—creating pieces that feel fresh and on-trend, while still being wearable and commercially strong.

DESIGN IDEAS FOR RESORT WEAR

Since our swimsuits already feature a variety of prints, I think it would be great to bring those prints into the resort pieces as well—and even offer them as coordinated sets with the swimwear. I also suggested adding some knit and linen outerwear options that can be comfortably worn over swimsuits, giving customers easy, stylish cover-up choices.

Create and share an example timeline. How would you manage product development from start to finish? Please base this on the timings you know from previous experience.

Timelines

When developing trackers with clients, the structure really depends on their workflow. For some, we start with a full-year calendar that outlines all the drops by quarter. For others, we combine everything into one tracker that includes costing, production status, and shipping timelines so the entire process can be monitored in one place.

Looking at our brand, tell us what makes you excited and what you would bring to the team if you were successful.

What really excites me about UNE PIECE is how strongly the brand stays committed to its core fits while still evolving through new prints and thoughtful updates. Like I mentioned in the interview, I admire how you’ve built a range around staple silhouettes that customers trust, and how you continue to grow the collection with fresh prints and carefully selected new shapes. It shows a great balance between consistency and innovation.

I also love that the brand is genuinely inclusive—offering multiple sizes and designing pieces that provide the right coverage while still feeling chic and modern. There’s a clear identity running through everything: the fits, the prints, the sizing, and the overall aesthetic. It all feels very intentional and well considered, which is something I value.

If I were to join the team, I would bring my eye for detail, my experience in product development, and my ability to manage and coordinate styles across each collection. I’d be excited to contribute fresh ideas while staying true to the brand’s DNA, and to help create pieces that make women feel confident, stylish, and supported through strong product development coordination.
